Jean Kiegerl, President

Jean has been active as an artist and community art instructor in Valley Visual Artists and NVCAC for many years.  Her paintings are often seen in Art Walk and the Courthouse Gallery. Her special interest is in engaging the community in all aspects of the arts and integrating the arts into community events. As President of the Board of Directors this year, her focus is on building a strong financial basis for the NVCAC through memberships, community support and grants, to ensure programs can continue without interruption and without unnecessary stress about fundraising to survive.

Mischelle Pierce

Mischelle is an appreciative of the Arts in all its forms. While sporting activities feed the physical and social needs of a community, art feeds the heart and soul of a community. Mischelle has lived in the Nicola Valley for almost 50 years and has seen many changes. She believes the Nicola Valley is truly the middle of everywhere and the opportunities open to us are endless. Mischelle became a director of the NVCAC to help promote and encourage enthusiasm and joy for the Arts.



Jane Bartle, Treasurer

Jane Bartle

Jane was born in Vancouver, raised and educated in Burnaby, achieved a Bachelor of Education at UBC, then continued her life-long learning in a broad range of private and public educational institutes throughout BC, Alberta, Ontario, and the Northwest Territories.   Her employment is equally broad ranging from Teaching, Community Development and Group Facilitation, Educational Governance and Financial Management, (9 years); to support work in Engineering, Law, Insurance, Financial Planning and Academia (8 years);  through to small business owner-operator (19 years).

 

Her hobbies include learning new things, playing the flute, walking her dogs off-leash wherever possible, practicing Healing Touch, and most recently growing a vegetable garden.

The Arts and Cultural diversity are a necessary prescription for a robust community and healthy society. Jane has been admirably provided for by the great universe of possibility—Serving on the Arts Council and Community Futures is her opportunity to give back to the universe of possibility so that others may enjoy and prosper.

Sarah Desrosiers

Ever since moving to Merritt in 2014, Sarah has been involved in helping to enrich our community with arts and culture. Sarah enjoys creating stained glass pieces that reflect the local landscape. She has also brought in the Home Routes concert series bringing top quality folk musicians from all over North America to Merritt for intimate house shows. Sarah became a director with NVCAC to assist in spreading the word about all the great events that the Arts Council put on as well as other arts and culture events that take place in town.
