NEW PUBLIC ART
COLLABORATION INITIATIVE
The Nicola Valley Community Arts Council is pleased to collaborate with the City of Merritt on an exciting new
community art project.
As part of the COVID-19 Economic Recovery Initiative, the City of Merritt is looking for local artists interested in providing artwork for our local buildings. They
will be providing some mural guidelines and community locations in the next few weeks.
Those interested in being a part of this mural creation project, around the theme of
nature, local plants and animals, are invited to reach out to communications@merritt.ca
And reach out to us!

If you "only draw stick men" or "can't draw a straight line" or just "can't draw" - give this a try! It only takes about 15 minutes and could change your mind.
The Nicola Valley Community Arts Council has been running a Public Artworks Program for years!
For instance, long time local artist Bev Veale has two beautiful paintings of beloved Nicola Valley hollyhocks in City Hall. Great to look at while you are lined up to pay City bills!
And Joel Reid has this art piece below at the Garden beside the Community Policing office.
That's on the other side of Spirit Square on Granite Avenue.
