Studio Open House

Leading an Art Class at NVCAC

This Open House is open to all NVCAC members, and the community. We encourage our past and current Instructors to attend, and "Not-Yet" Instructors also.

If you are an Artist/Crafter/Maker and would like to share your skills, knowledge and experience by leading a class, we would love to see you at this Open House.

We will explore opportunities to teach one or more of

your favourite Art Activities at the NV Arts Centre. You can meet the NVCAC Directors, other Instructors, and take a tour of our freshly renovated and organized Studio and Clubhouse. We will demonstrate the process to propose a Course or Workshop.

NVCAC Instructors are remunerated at a competitive rate, and are also paid for Prep Time. Refreshments (included) and general discussion to follow. No cost for this event.

Needlefelting Bowl

Needle felting is a creative craft that involves sculpting shapes and figures using wool and special felting needles. It’s a simple yet versatile technique that allows you to create amazing creations with just a few supplies. In this workshop, we will be making little bowls [think the size of a large orange].

This is a project for beginners that will take some time but will

offer opportunity for lots of creative expression . These little

bowls could house eggs, a little bird or a treasured stone.

Suitable for students 15 years and up.

Your instructor is Mischelle Pierce and she has been joyfully needlefelting for about 5 yrs after learning to

needlefelt a ball. She finds it to be meditative, and a pleasant,

relatively simple process to start. Then, the possibilities are

endless to create items from birds to bowls.

Minimum 4, maximum 8 participants each class.

*No refunds on art programs, classes or events, unless NVCAC cancels.
